Rear Entrance to the Museum

On April 24, 1973 a group of citizens from the Lodi community met and formed the Lodi Valley Historical Society, consisting of 49 charter members.  The Jolivette Memorial House was acquired in 1988 by a generous gift from native son Ray Brown in memory of his beloved wife, Margaret Jolivette Brown.  In 2009 a new addition to the Jolivette Memorial House was built.  On this location in 1846 Isaac Palmer built Lodi's first log cabin.

Arlington Prairie Church

N910 Smokey Hollow Rd
Lodi, WI 53555

Norwegian settlers built the Arlington Prairie Lutheran Church in 1870.  The altar, altar rail and baptismal font were hand hewn by Iver Larson and remain untouched to this day.  The Church's interior including the altar and pulpit remain as they were in 1870.  The windows were replaced with stained glass after a severe storm destroyed the original clear glass in 1953.  This beautiful Church was gifted to the Lodi Valley Historical Society in 2012.  The society took on the responsibility to restore and preserve this symbol of importance in the lives of the immigrants who came to the area in the 1800's.  The Church is now available for rental for weddings, baptisms, funerals, and special events.
